What to check after your move to the new MangoMap
Your maps and data moved from the previous version of MangoMap. Check these common changes, and find the page that shows you how to fix each one.
Your maps, layers, and data moved from the previous version of MangoMap. Most maps work as before. A few things work differently in the new MangoMap, and some old features are gone. Open each of your maps and check the items below. Each card links to the page that shows you how to fix it.
Map styles
Styles look a little different
Marker sizes, line widths, and dashes can change. Check each map and adjust the style.
A layer coloured by a field draws in one colour
Colours stored in a data field are not used. Style the layer by category again.
Some categories draw nothing
The category values do not match the data, for example in upper or lower case. Build the categories again from the data.
To adjust a style, see How to set a uniform point style for marker size, How to set line width and opacity, and How to style line patterns and casing for dashes. Features in a category that does not match the data did not draw in the previous version either. Category values with & or an accented letter, such as Bosnia & Herzegovina or Côte d'Ivoire, now move correctly. If a map still has the problem, build its categories again.
Layers and legend
Every folder is called Layer Group
Layer groups are now folders. Rename them, and move layers between them if you need to.
The one-group-at-a-time legend is gone
Each folder now has its own switch, so viewers can show more than one folder at a time.
Map access
Access modes have new names
Public, Standalone, Hidden, Password, and Internal each match a set of settings in the new map settings. See which one, with a screenshot of each.
You cannot see an old map password
Old map passwords still work, but the map settings cannot show them. To see the password, set a new one and share it with your viewers.
A map password does not work
Check the publishing mode, the password, and the link you shared.
Popups
Equations lost their thousands separators
Add .toLocaleString() to the end of the equation to show 12,508 in place of 12508.
HTML in your data shows as plain text
Popups show HTML tags in a data field as text. Remove the HTML from the data, then upload the dataset again.
To show links, images, or buttons in a popup, build them in the popup editor. See How to write a custom popup template.

Features that are no longer available
These features are not in the new MangoMap:
- Pushpins and Map comparison. The map viewer does not have these tools.
- Graduated bubbles on polygon and line layers. Circles sized by a data field are available only on point layers. To show them, make a point dataset of the centroids (centre points) of your polygons or lines, with the same data fields. Most GIS software can do this. Import the dataset, add it to the map, and size its points by the field. See Importing data and How to size points by a number.
