How to find a map (signed in)

Find maps while signed in, including maps that do not appear publicly. Use the admin filter and the publishing-status badges on each card.

The signed-in Maps page lists every map you can access, including maps that don’t appear publicly. It has the visitor search, sort, layout, and pagination controls, plus an admin filter and publishing-status badges.

This how-to focuses on what changes for signed-in account members. For the basics (search box, sort menu, layout toggle, pagination), see How to find a map in the public portal. For a full catalog of every control, see the Maps portal reference.

Before you start

  • You need to be signed in to your MangoMap account. Open the portal at https://mangomap.com/<account-slug>/maps.
  • Your account role and group memberships decide which maps you see. Owners see every map in the account; Admins, Editors, and Viewers see maps they created and maps shared with their groups. See Account roles reference.

See your full map set

Signed-in members see more maps than visitors:

  • Maps you created.
  • Maps shared with any access group you belong to.
  • Every map in the account (Owner only).

If a map you expect to see isn’t here, check its access settings — it may be hidden from your role. See How map access works in MangoMap.

Read the badge chips on each card

Signed-in Maps portal searched for Access Gallery and sorted Title (Z-A). Each map card shows a Public or Password access badge, eye and magnifier visibility icons (the not-listed map shows a crossed-out eye), a creator chip Abraham, and an updated chip Oct 8.

Every card shows a row of chips with the map’s publishing status. Visitors don’t see these.

  • Access-mode badge — Public, Link, Password, or Internal. The label matches the map’s publishing mode, and Internal means public access is off. Hover for a description.
  • Portal-visibility indicators — two small circular icons next to the badge:
  • Eye / Eye-slash — whether the map is listed in the public portal.
  • Magnifier / Magnifier-minus — whether the map is allowed to appear in search-engine results.
  • Group Editable chip — appears when an access group has edit permission on the map.
  • Creator chip — first name of the map’s creator. Hover for the full name and creation date.
  • Updated chip — the last-updated date. Hover for the full date.

For the full meaning of each label, see Access-mode badges.

Use the advanced filters

The Filters button at the right end of the search bar opens the Filter Maps dialog. Visitors don’t see this button.

Three filter sections, applied together as AND:

  • Access type — limit the list to maps in one or more access modes (e.g., only Public, only Link).
  • Date — pick a start and end date. A map is included when its created date OR its last-updated date falls in the range.
  • Owner — limit the list to the maps one account member created. Picking another member replaces the first.

Click Apply Filters to apply. Click Clear All to reset every section.

Applied filters persist for the rest of the session and are remembered alongside the sort and layout choices.

Combine filters with search and sort

Search, sort, and advanced filters are independent and all apply together:

  1. Search by keyword to narrow by title, description, creator, or tag.
  2. Open the filter popover to constrain by access mode, date, or creator.
  3. Sort the results with the sort dropdown.

The total result count appears at the bottom of the page next to the pagination controls.
