How profile and password settings work in MangoMap
Which profile settings every user can change, such as name, email, and password, and which organisation details only the account owner can edit.
Profile settings belong to the signed-in user. Every account role can update its own name, email, and password. Only eligible account owners can change organisation fields.
Personal settings
| Setting | Who can change it | Important effect |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Every signed-in user | Updates the name associated with the user. |
| Every signed-in user | Requires a code sent to the new address and the current password. | |
| Password | Every signed-in user | Requires the current password and revokes other sessions. |
| Role | Nobody from this page | Read-only; an account owner changes roles in team management. |
Owner settings
Account owners normally see organisation name and URL slug controls. These values belong to the account, not the user.
Partner-managed accounts replace those controls with guidance to contact the partner.
Changing the URL slug changes shared URLs and does not create redirects from the former slug. See How to change your account URL slug.
Email verification
Changing the email starts a two-part verification:
- A verification code confirms access to the new inbox.
- The current password confirms the signed-in user’s identity.
The new email is not applied until both checks succeed, and until then the old email still signs in. The current browser receives a new session. Other sessions must sign in again with the new email.
Password changes
The password form requires at least eight characters with lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.
If the current password is unknown, use mangomap.com/forgot-password instead.
