How signing in works in MangoMap
MangoMap uses your email and password to open your account. See the public and account sign-in pages, how sessions work, and how to switch accounts.
MangoMap uses your email and password to identify you and open your account. After you sign in, MangoMap opens your account’s Maps portal or returns you to the protected page you requested. If you open a sign-in page while you are already signed in, MangoMap opens your account’s Maps portal instead.
Your session stays in the browser you used. Signing in on one browser or device does not sign you in on another. Sign out before signing in to a different account in the same browser.
The two sign-in pages
Public sign-in
Use the public page at mangomap.com/sign-in when you do not have a specific account URL. It includes links for creating an account and resetting a forgotten password.
After you sign in, MangoMap opens the account associated with your credentials. If you followed a link to a protected page first, it can return you to that destination.
Account-scoped sign-in
An account-scoped page uses an account name in the URL, such as mangomap.com/<account-slug>/sign-in. When you are signed out, this URL opens the public sign-in page, and after you sign in MangoMap opens your account.
An account with a connected custom domain can have its own sign-in page on that domain, and mangomap.com/<account-slug>/sign-in opens it. This page uses the account’s branding and may show its logo. It does not include account-creation or password-reset links. Use the public page when you need to create an account or reset a forgotten password.
All sign-in pages use the same email and password.
If your account moved to the new MangoMap
If your account moved from the previous version of MangoMap, an old link to one of its pages can take you to the sign-in page. This happens when you are signed out. The first time it happens on a device, MangoMap shows Your account has moved to the new MangoMap. Please sign in again to continue. After you sign in, MangoMap opens the page from the link.
What happens to your session
While you are signed in, MangoMap can open the maps, datasets, and account tools allowed by your user and account roles.
Signing out ends the session in that browser. Sign out when you use a shared computer or switch accounts.
Password recovery and password changes
Use Forgot password? on the public sign-in page when you cannot remember your password. MangoMap emails either a reset link or a verification code. Which one you get depends on your account, not on the sign-in page you use. In both cases, the new password applies to the same account.
If you know your current password, use How to change your password instead. That flow is separate from password recovery.
What sign-in supports
MangoMap’s customer sign-in forms use email and password. They do not offer social login, single sign-on, or multi-factor authentication.
